Nice, we now have a “Liberal” Party headed by a guy who opposed gay marriage http://m.huffpost.com/uk/entry/7799256 …

@IanEiloart So is his support of the amendments mentioned @ http://m.huffpost.com/uk/entry/7799256 …) fabricated? Can you point me to a source? +@laurakalbag

@aral the point is he supports equal marriage. He didn’t support forcing people to conduct the ceremonies, which is more nuanced. -
@IanEiloart Does he support forcing people to serve gays at restaurants? How about blacks? Sorry, I must be missing the nuance somewhere. -
@aral you see that it’s a different position, though? And that he voted in favour of equal marriage several times? -
@IanEiloart I find it less than ideal. Then again, I guess it matters not — I’m entirely disenchanted with the current political system. -
@aral Yes, well everyone is less than ideal. I think his position has changed on that issue, btw, but I’m not certain.

@aral I don’t agree with him, but it’s a different question. Not sure I’d want my registrar going through the motions through gritted teeth. -
@IanEiloart That kind of reasoning is what gave us segregation.
