Going to go out on a limb here and say that running ImageOptim after http://tinypng.com  isn’t worth the time :)pic.twitter.com/aBsLbuv43L

@aral make sure you disable Xcode’s automatic (by default on) PNG compression, because otherwise this is a pretty useless optimization.

@aral for web it totally makes sense, yes. btw: Xcode’s compression is quite good actually, so there’s little need to self-optimize.

@macguru17 Neat, good to know :) I know pngcrush was in there somewhere but didn’t know it was automatically applied (makes sense) :)

@aral I only use ImageOptim. Am I missing something?

@Wordius ImageOptim is non-lossy. There are also lossy PNG compressors.

@aral every byte counts & as a one time operation, pushing your images through ImageOptim is never bad & only takes a few minutes

@davemurdock I guess you’re right (and I probably will for that reason) but not sure about time/reward :)

@aral time is trivial, drag your files in & let it crunch in the background while you do other stuff. Reward is knowing you did right!
