@jilliancyork You tell me: would the @eff accept an NSA Policy Fellow? If not, how is it ok that it accepts a Google Policy Fellow?

@aral I’m no fan of Google, but the two are not the same thing. -
@jilliancyork One is government surveillance; the other corporate surveillance. And they’re not mutually exclusive, either. -
@aral I’d bet if the State Dept. paid a fellow directly to do research for us, we might consider that too. -
@jilliancyork So it’s possible we’ll see someone with the title “NSA Policy Fellow at@eff” soon? Fair enough, at least that’s consistent.

@aral Google pays the fellow directly. This year’s fellow worked on issues in Ethiopia. We wouldn’t otherwise have funding for that. -
@jilliancyork My question remains: let’s ask the NSA to set up a fellowship with the exact same terms as Google’s. Will the@eff sign up?
