@aral I'm not sure closed systems needed "normalising". They're pretty common across human endeavour. -
@charlesarthur Perhaps. We did miss a trick, though, not using open alternatives. Hope we don’t continue missing that particular trick :) -
@aral those alternatives weren't available at that time. Linux didn't start until 1991/2, barely serviceable until 1998. -
