@aral, are lots of differences. Mozilla was 10 people building Firefox. We're 1,000 people today with a million phones in market already.
@asadotzler Good luck. Would love to know what % of those people primarily use Google services on those FirefoxOS phones.

@aral Let's make a deal. We'll revisit this conversation in a year and see how well we're both doing. I support your goals and wish you luck -
@asadotzler Ditto — I hope FirefoxOS does well. We are not trying to solve the same problem though (and yes, let’s) :)

@aral@asadotzler Wasn't the point that one could build non-Google services on top of FirefoxOS? -
@LeoMcArdle@aral I think Aral is saying Firefox OS can only sell where Google isn't selling well or something like that. Time will tell. -
@asadotzler My read:@aral wants a complete new vert stack up to user data services. Diff goals from us. We want horiz freedom at web layer. -
@wanderview Exactly that. We’re not solving the same problem. We’re trying to create an alternative to corporate surveillance. +@asadotzler -
@aral Welcome that! Would love to see on all phones. Obv I believe web can help there, but maybe not first step/goal. /@asadotzler -
@aral And I think we can all welcome more initiatives that encourage the mobile hardware paltform to be more open. /@asadotzler
