    “Consider moving more data to cloud services offered by Google and others.” How about “stop using Windows” instead? http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/jun/02/how-to-avoid-cryptolocker-ransomware-virus?CMP=fb_gu …

        @aral very true. Disappointed @guardian @guardiantech didn't mention either a good *proactive* password policy or 2fa. #everylittlehelps

        @aral "stop using windows" - an excellent plan, but let's face it... Never going to happen. Linux is just awful as consumer OS, macs costly.

        .@basexperience Many studies show lifetime cost of Macs is cheaper; initial outlay higher. Don’t spend half life in the ‘shop’

        @Wordius am currently considering the merits of an early 2008 model Mac Pro.

        @basexperience BTW. Think better off with current tech if you can, a Mac Mini paired with non-Apple peripherals is cheapest solution, £499

        @Wordius appreciated - I've been building PCs since 1998 and keep an eye on Macs ;-)
