@aral one gotcha I found with CloudFront is that you can't use wildcards to invalidate large numbers of files - you have to list each file.

@aral ah. hmmm. that's a strange one then. Where is your file origin? Coming from an S3 bucket? -

@aral perhaps your S3 files are serving up some funky cache headers? Are you sure it's CloudFront which is caching the content not browser? -
@SirRawlins Tried on multiple devices/browsers. Hitting S3 endpoint brings up latest deploy. Cache header override in console to TTL 0.
