Analogy 101 http://aralbalkan.com/scribbles/analogy-101/ … A quick note on understanding an analogy.
@amywamy999 I don’t believe that I did. Can you tell me how I messed up by responding to the points I made instead of a general accusation?

@aral You used an inappropriate analogy to try & convey a point. Maybe this was for dramatic effect, I don't know, but it was inappropriate. -
@amywamy999 That is your opinion and I respect that. However, I do not agree that it was inappropriate. -
@aral don't understand your analogy. People get it, they just think it's out of order. -
@amywamy999 Again, fair enough. They are entitled to their opinion. I do not believe that it is out of order. -
@aral Don't expect people to believe that having their information stolen is the same as being abused. Its clearly not. -
@amywamy999 That is exactly what the analogy does _not_ do and I expressly state that in my post. Did you actually read my post? -
@aral Yes. It was just you blindly defending your own thoughts. -
@amywamy999 I’m sorry to hear that’s what you thought of it. I don’t think we need to debate this further as you have made up your mind.

@aral There's no point blindly defending yourself when it's obvious from the response you've had that you got it wrong. -
@amywamy999 The response I had was a handful of people, some with a historic vested in interest in misrepresenting the analogy.
