    So until Apple implements a per-session master password for iCloud Keychain I’m sticking to using a proper password manager (@1password)

        @aral Mac OS/iOS uses the user account or device password to authenticate and unlock the keychain. Always has done.

        @Smutchings Indeed; and yet it feels wrong to go to a site and have my username/password prefilled without some sort of validation from me.

        @aral it’s the old convenience/security compromise, same as TouchID and the iTunes Store 15 minute window.

        @aral it also syncs wifi pass, as I was setting wifi on my iPad, I noticed that almost immediately my iPhone was connected to the same wifi

        @aral so how about that code you had to setup aswell? ie when you setup a new device with keychain you have to authorize with a preset code

        @aral hence iCloud Keychain asking you to set a password on an iOS device, and prompting to turn off when you disable password lock.
