    So, wait a minute, iCloud Keychain does *not* have a master password? Seriously? Am I missing a setting somewhere? *reaches to turn it off*

        @aral I thought there was a (optional) iCloud Security Code.

        @BenjaminZAMayo Just checked; there is but it’s only for authorising new devices, it’s not a per-session master password ala 1password.

        @aral there’s an iCloud Security Code, can be a 4-digit code or you can have a more complex code automatically generated for you.

        @Nonentity Hey Ben, afaik, that’s to authorise new devices and not a per-session master password ala 1password.

        @aral You’re right, Apple’s take on the Master Password is the password used to lock the device (or touch ID). Pretty weak.

        @aral it seems inline with a Google account whereby logging into Chrome and saving passwords works in a similar manor

        @uliwitness I mean, a per-session password. e.g., if someone pulls up a site on my laptop/phone, my sign-in details aren’t prefilled.

        @aral And on the Mac, the same, or use a guest account. (I know that's not how it works in practice, but seems to be the assumption)

        @aral fine with require password immediately on timeout, very short idle window. @1password is extra unnecessary steps imo.

        @aral I think the ultimate idea us that touch ID will serve as the master password, once available on iPad and Mac too.
