If you limit your mind to free software, you get a ‘pro life’ approach. If you free your mind, you get ‘pro choice’—Välimäki #DrupalCon #wtf
@__MarkW__ Odd that he talked about that patent and never mentioned the vested interest in his talk.

@aral Tuxera can re-license ExFAT and NTFS patents/implementations for companies who want to ship e.g. Linux with MS filesystem support. -
@aral Of course individuals who receive those implementations may not re-distribute them. Part of MS patent tax on OSS interop racket. -
@__MarkW__@aral I find it interesting that Samsung got away with releasing a GPL'd ExFAT implementation, after a temp licence violation. -
@vmlemon@__MarkW__ Interesting, I’ll look into that :) -
@aral@__MarkW__ It seems to be available from https://gitorious.org/binbang/exfat-linux/source/a562a7abffce20f1c13541b13086836fad82621a …, unofficially. As@Codepope notes, a patent licence isn't conveyed. -
@vmlemon@aral@__MarkW__ Isn’t explicitly conveyed, but then it isn’t Samsungs to grant. Is also officially here - http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=exfat …
