@aral Wow, Aral, that was cynical :-/

@aerotwist My bad, thought a publicly-traded multi-billion-dollar multinational corporation acted to maximise its primary source of profit. -
@aral do you think every entity acts purely to maximise profits or have you created a clause to exclude yourself from this opinion? -
@jaffathecake I am not an entity that is _legally obliged_ to make as much profit as possible for its shareholders. Human != Corporation. -
@aral yeah, that'll be why I get taken into a back room and flogged when I create more work internally by complaining about bad practice -
@jaffathecake Of course you don’t get flogged :) But you don’t make the rules either. -
@aral I've fought for what I thought is right for the web and haven't been told to do otherwise. -
@jaffathecake And I’m glad you’re there; doing what you do. :) Doesn’t alter the nature of the beast. - 3 more replies

@aral@aerotwist you should give them more respect. A project like that has the potential to change peoples lives for the better. -
@thebeebs@aerotwist And there I thought I was giving publicly-traded multi-billion dollar multinational corporations their due respect :) -
@aral@aerotwist why do you think good business (more users) and raising the worlds standards of living are mutually exclusive goals? -
@thebeebs@aerotwist I don’t. I simply do not trust the construct that is the publicly-traded multinational corporation. -
@aral@aerotwist well maybe trust the human engineers working on it. Dreaming about making a difference, making the world a more = place -
@thebeebs@aerotwist This message brought to you by PRISM :)
