So that unobtrusive template engine I’m working on for Node & browsers is called Tally :) If you want a sneak peek: http://tally.jit.su

@aral Isn't that template syntax similar / identical to Ember's templating?

@miksago Doesn’t ember use handlebars? If so, no, it’s about as different as it can be :)

@aral iirc, it has some performance problems; but more that you're sending excess data to the client.

@miksago Tally will allow you to configure that (it’s on the roadmap)—whether or not to send the data attributes to client…

@miksago @adactio brought the point up the other day and it’s a valid one. If you don’t want client‐side updates, you don’t need them.

@aral what about aligning with reactive? the api's are identical except for namespacing - https://github.com/component/reactive/blob/master/examples/form.html …

@aral can it be compiled into functions? Couldn't tell from cursory glance at site.

@polotek Hey Marco, do you mean into JS? (Yes) :) Use Tally.js in browser. You can use either the compiled JS or the CS in Node as usual.

@aral what I mean is can tally templates be compiled and shipped as plain js. Or do you need the engine in the browser?

@polotek If I’m understanding you correctly, you only need the engine in the browser if you want to update the template client-side.

@ddtrejo Thanks, David. You can override the namespace to make it whatever you like (as per w3c recommendations) e.g., data-david-text, etc.
