Post update: Pixel‐parity rems — tweak the base font size to scale everything in proportion at breakpoints: http://aralbalkan.com/notes/pixel-parity-rems/ …
@laurakalbag I’m not saying it’s made up. I’m saying I’d like a good reference to refer to. Will keep searching.

@aral it would be one mega encyclopaedia if we had a reference article for every quirk we write into/avoid in our CSS. -
@laurakalbag I don’t see anything wrong with that. Would be a very useful resource :) -
@aral@laurakalbag@LeaVerou px weren’t zoomable in IE < 7. There are no accessibility issues in (more) modern browsers as they have zoom -
@yatil Are there any accessibility issues you know of in setting _root font size_ using pixels in modern browsers? +@laurakalbag@LeaVerou -
@aral@laurakalbag@LeaVerou …convert any px values to the minimum. If I set 14px, your 1px would be interpreted as 14px afaik. -
@yatil@laurakalbag@LeaVerou That’s the behaviour I’ve seen. Would be more correct if browsers applied min px setting to computed values… -
@aral@laurakalbag@LeaVerou I think it’s because they treat px as a fixed unit instead of a relative one. That’s a bug to me. -
@yatil@laurakalbag@LeaVerou Agree. All elements that matter may be > user’s min size and still will get scaled if root font size is < it.

@aral I’ve had a look, but it’s got those awkward key words that make it hard to pinpoint something useful.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
