@aral current indiewebcamp rough consensus is to use URLs as nouns and pingback (or webmention) for mention… http://waterpigs.co.uk/notes/1083/

@adamauckland How funny that we were talking about this exact same thing earlier today. +@aral -

@aral That's how I implemented it in Chirp. But I left away the HTTP and used subdomains instead of the path. I.e. @ aral . twitter . com -
@uliwitness@aral how does Chirp handle session state? wildcard cookies? Twitter also uses local storage which is subdomain dependent IIRC -
@adamauckland It's a distributed Twitter clone, so that's not really an issue there, if I understand you correctly. -
@uliwitness interesting, I started something similar myself except using asynchronous crypto, but gave up cos Twitter had critical mass. -
@adamauckland I want to do async crypto for DMs. See http://orangejuiceliberationfront.com/building-a-distributed-twitter/ … for my plans. -
@uliwitness read OJ. Challenges I see are generating pub/private key pairs in a website (low security, easily comprisable) -
@adamauckland Yeah, generating public/private keys for that needs to be securely programmed & maintained that way. By the CODER, not USER. - 1 more reply
