@aral You don't really think conference organizers actively choose not to invite women speakers. You know better than that.
Otherwise, I’ve said all I’m going to say about this subject on my site and I won’t be partaking in Twitter banter on it.

@JivaDeVoe My thoughts on the subject are here: http://aralbalkan.com/notes/on-false-dichotomies-and-diversity/ … As stated there in detail, no, that is not my position. -
@aral Would be fun to see a conference have an anonymous submission process to test and prove that. -
@JivaDeVoe Please read my article before tweeting me. I wrote about all this in it. It has been done. Results are in. -
@aral I'm reading it now. You stated "if you manage to get a speaker line‐up with 0% female speakers, you have a bias" that is... -
@JivaDeVoe I also state that the reason it is an indicator of bias is because it extremely divergent from the make‐up of the industry. -
@aral CHOOSE not to speak, and only through cajoling and pressure from men, do it. Ref: http://geekfeminism.org/2012/05/21/how-i-got-50-women-speakers-at-my-tech-conference/ … and http://2012.jsconf.eu/2012/09/17/beating-the-odds-how-we-got-25-percent-women-speakers.html … -
@JivaDeVoe No offence, but my whole mentions stream is you at the moment. Maybe a blog post would be a better medium to air your thoughts? - 1 more reply
