Here’s hoping we never have to make a decision between Apple iPad Home Basic Edition (32 Bit) and Apple iPad Home Premium Edition (64 Bit).

@aral Do you feel like the iPad Mini is a shit move for Apple? They’ll make a lot of money but I feel it dilutes the brand a little.

@peterjlambert I feel it’s a defensive move. And that’s a change of track. Also feels like they are bowing to monopolistic pressure.

@aral Yes. Agree. I think it’s a move they don’t need to make and probably shouldn’t. It’s not the highest road they could take.

@aral Apple will make that choice for you: every six months, they make the previous top end products obsolete.

@jonathanbruck @aral 6 months? This iPad 3 -> iPad 4 was the first time they’ve done that in a while. Most products are a minimum of a year

@the_gadgeteur I still think that consumers will have a hard time keeping up with that timeline.

@aral What about iPad and iPad Pro models? Pro being more top shelf with a Surface-like keyboard dock? All with Retina displays only.

@aral iOS is 64 bit on all device, no !?! Or is your point about avoiding too many versions?

@aral Agreed. Apple's catalogue is starting to get a little too much of a minefield for Joe Public to simply buy a product.
