(There is no magic button you can push to convert your web app to a beautiful experience on a bunch of native platforms. Sorry.)

@aral There are many successful PhoneGap apps. HTML-based solutions do not absolve people from following Apple's UX Guidelines.

@andytrice Really? So they can use the native components and frameworks? When did that happen? :)

@aral more detail here. http://www.tricedesigns.com/2012/10/03/phonegap-apple-rejections-uiux-guidelines/ … If "HTML" was so bad, why did Apple use it in their own apps?

@andytrice HTML is not bad. Telling people that they can create one-click native apps from their web apps is.

@aral where are you seeing that message? Apple's own guides discourage wrapping mobile web sites.

@aral however, all our technical team does not promote it this way. We say "you can build with html", but we do not promote wrapping sites

@andytrice Then maybe you need to talk to your marketing folks because they seem to be very successful at setting unrealistic expectations.

@Julia_JJ Of course there isn’t :) However, neither are you limited because you’re using HTML controls and pretending to be native.

@aral I think it's a function of process too - people decide on the tool before the experience, rather than the other way around. :)

@Julia_JJ People who decide on the tool before the experience are doing it wrong.

@aral then if that works out, you can refactor using more native stuff (the Facebook route). Needs strong organisation and guts though.

@aral I think the technology is being unfairly blamed in some cases though. PhoneGap enables you to be lazy, but it can also help for MVP.
