Wrapping a web app in a native binary and calling it a native app is like embedding a PDF in a web site and calling it a web site.

@aral @mikko This is yet another thing that’s driven centralization— put it on the web and you can forget about all the platforms.

@adamierymenko We cannot ‘forget about the platforms’ because the platforms are what the experience will be consumed on. +@mikko

@aral Au contraire. While putting a PDF on a web page limits your audience (and degrades the experience), developing HTML5 apps expands it.

@DoubleMalt Reread my analogy; it concerns wrapping an HTML5 app _in a native app_ and _calling it a native app_.

@aral its like a company wrapping a *nix app in a RHEL6 VM and calling it native support for Windows.

@aral @mikko Unfortunately that means you have to build your native app a minimum of… what… five times?
