People commenting on the Google walkout with shit like "oh they get paid more than anyone and they're complaining?" I signed up to work at the best company in the world. I did not sign up to get harassed and silenced. You don't have to suffer to deserve decency.

No one should be harassed or silenced or have to suffer to deserve decency. Which is also why we must stop perpetuating this toxic myth that Google is “the best company in the world” or a force for good in the world.

Google’s entire business is inherently incompatible with respecting human rights & dignity. It is a factory farm for human beings. That is not to say that this excuses how it abuses its own staff in any way but rather to acknowledge that abuse of humans is the bedrock of Google.
