So basically, #23andme will keep your genetic information and do whatever they want with it once you gave it to them. They have an interpretation of gdpr against deletion.

So true. I would not have done it today, knowing everything I know. But 2 years ago, when I got their kit, it looked like a fun thing to do. My bad that I didn't think about all the consequences of sharing the data

Exactly. And none of us were born expecting the worst of our industry (at least I wasn't). I ordered one of the earliest kits. Thankfully, I was scatterbrained and forgot to send it back. Bullet dodged :)
