@aral saw your blog - 1password is not free as in libre software, I think?
From f-droid store, keepassdroid is very good, and the pwd db created from that can be opened in its desktop version keepassX. + Keepassdroid doesn't even request or require internet access to work
1password isn't, no (but they are an independent organisation that make their money by selling a product). I've been looking into the Keepass solutions but I also want sync, etc. Will try and come up with a convenient solution that works for me and hopefully others too :)

IMO, sync over the web for something like pwd db (even if file under AES, etc) is a very bad idea. Sync being not there in keepassdroid should be considered... a feature, and not something that's missing ;-)

We can do end-to-end encrypted sync so it's no more or less safe than the state of modern cryptography.

yes! Will be nice if it gets a feature to sync across devices in local network (without going over the web just for syncing between phone & laptop). For example In android, maybe start a hotspot and send file to laptop directly connected to hotspot, so no need to send over www

also how "share via http" app in f-droid works. Spins a simple server in phone, so we can transfer file to laptop connected on the same wifi.
