Your posts are tempting me to try all this. But for a designer, it's still impossible to really work on Linux :(

You saying' I'm not a designer? ;)

Haha! Nooo! But you’re right, I should have said “designer in an agency and working for clients” :)

In which case, point entirely taken and agreed with ;)

Ooh, I’ll give that a go. Wonder if it’ll work on my old MBP

Macs are notorious for having issues due to proprietary drivers but it's worth a shot. Try it via USB stick first.

Good read. Wasn't one of the reasons to get rid of the app menu that cursor travel distance was too high? Like: docking an app bottom right of the screen, then having to move top left to use corresponding menu?

I also think the way forward for Linux on the desktop highly curated distro's. Hackers gonna hack. Be consistent and thorough in the choices you make. Otherwise you'll end up like Ubuntu now: Phasing out Unity, not quite vanilla GNOME3, settings all over the place.

*are. Too hot for good grammar. I've heard good things about ElementaryOS. I've been avoiding more modern desktop managers (probably the 2012-era trauma that was Unity), so I'm still rocking old school GNOME2-style panels. I'll have to give this new generation a go.

So it appears you don't use focus-follows-mouse. You should. It's amazing but it will make you change your position on global menus. :)

Could you tell the readers more about focus-follows-mouse?
