@1password Hey folks, I'd like to keep using 1password on my Google-free Android phone but I can't find 1password either on the f-droid store or as an apk. Can you help? The cost of using a VPN to protect my privacy shouldn't be to surrender my privacy to Google (Alphabet, Inc.)

Hey Aral. 1Password for Android is distributed exclusively through the Play Store. We don't have any APKs available through through any other sources.

OK, so the cost of using
@1Password on Android is surrendering your privacy to Google (Alphabet, Inc.) Very disappointing. The cost of security shouldn’t be loss of privacy. I’ll be looking for an alternative.#SurveillanceCapitalismhttps://twitter.com/1Password/status/1014993975407730688 …Aral Balkan added,

The entire Android ecosystem and most of the Android source code were created by Google for surveillance capitalism, and they influence Android developers culture more than anyone else. There’s no
#SurveillanceCapitalism on iOS because it’s a different business model.2 replies 1 retweet 2 likes -
This is like me getting angry at

No, it’s saying that there is a way to support an open platform (AOSP) with your app so will you or will you force people to use Google’s proprietary, surveillance-based services.
