    this dilutes the "debate" even if 100% true. only fact that is relevant here: encryption can be used by bad guys regardless of regulations.

    This isn’t about freedom of speech but privacy. Encryption is a prerequisite for exercising your human right to privacy in the digital age.

    One could argue that use of international computer networks is not a private activity, any more than crossing a physical border.
