Honestly in most scenarios bullying helps with character development and growing into an adult with thick skin and better understanding. I was bullied quite a bit in elementary school, and I'm glad I was. Since, I've made amends and received apologies from most of those people.

I developed an eating disorder and suffered from depression for most of my late teens and early twenties. On behalf of every child that was serious bullied - NO it does not help build character or thicken skin.
