We are angry. We are heart broken. We are fed up. Countless Black people have suffered by the hands of a system that doesn’t want to protect, respect or support them. Enough is enough.  Black Lives Matter. Black Women Matter. Black Economist Matter.  We matter.

It is empty when politicians call for healing and peace without stating antiracist policies they want to institute. Words bring momentary healing and peace. Policy change brings lasting healing and peace by rooting out the racism suffocating so many people. We want to breathe.

I’m home & still processing that I saw peaceful protesters teargassed outside the White House so Pres Trump could walk to St. John's Episcopal Church. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, who oversees the church, said she is “outraged” to see it used in a photo-op. I’m speechless.
