At some point you’ll have to start approaching, especially if you’re down a stock

In reality I approach in a back and forth way, dashing in and out while slowly getting closer and dancing around my opponent's attacks until I can get a hit. It's the idea of "one step back, two steps forward" so that you keep yourself from over-committing to your approach
