A minority group should be rightfully worried when the "harmless" language being used against them is the same language used to justify removing their rights. The majority are the ones who have the ability to decide their rights and safety, of course they will be worried

What I'm hearing is that all minority groups need to segregate themselves from the majority. Their own fountains, spots on the bus, schools. Or you cut the identitarian bullshit and recognize were all just people trying to navigate a world that doesn't care

That's, not what I said at all. Are you listening to a different conversation? Of course I'd love it if our gender identity and sexuality didn't affect how others perceive us but as of now it does and we all need to be mindful of how we interact with others.

And that's a really noble sentiment I think more people should embrace. The problem is that in reality this isn't actually the case. Racism and homophobia do exist and if we don't address or talk about them then these minority groups will suffer. Others aren't as open-minded

And the fact that I will laugh at some pretty dark shit doesn't mean I don't take it seriously.

Well see that's the thing, making dark jokes is super funny but they only work when the audience is already open-minded and therefore understands that it's not serious. The problem comes when others take it out of context and use them to spread a toxic culture.

A joke stops being a joke the moment it is used or interpreted maliciously

No, it doesn't. That's like taking a sentence out of context and claiming its just as valid as the actual context. Should all dark humor now be banned because its not to everyone's taste? Good comedy pushes boundaries. It addresses uncomfortable topics with levity

You're exactly right, I'm agreeing with you. Dark humor is a really useful tool and can be really beneficial if used properly. All I'm saying is, you have to know your audience and target towards them. I'm not worried about YOU taking it out of context, I'm worried about others

You seem like a nice person so I have a feeling you're not the one I'm worried about. The people I'm worried about are the people who take a dark joke, turn it in to a nasty slogan, and then head out to protest against human rights. Clearly you are not this person
