It's Twitter, it takes a lot of time to build up followers and even then not everyone will respond. Don't make Twitter in to as much of a big deal and just have it be a place to post your thoughts every now and then. Even if people don't see it, at least you got it out there
Don't let Twitter publicity be the thing to bog you down, social media is very finicky and not everyone picks up in publicity quickly. You've still got plenty of friends who care about you even if they're not on Twitter responding to your posts, trust me
