As a kid boyscouts helped shape the persona I am today. I am proud of the shifts that the “scouts” are making. Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, reverent, and Inclusive! Bravo!!!

There is not one thing I learned as a scout that would have been diminished by inclusion of all. In fact one of the best experiences I had as a scout what when we were lead by a woman ranger while hiking Philmont New Mexico.

They should have simply changed their names to Scouts of America. By keeping BSA in their name they are not truly being gender inclusive in the end.

Sorry but I was in brownies and Girl Scouts and I’m glad it was all girls. Imaging guys there would have changed everything. We all got to focus on being girls and making friends.

Me too. Love love love my all girl HS. Best years of my life. Girl guides are a thing here. I don't get why people aren't clear about this. How can there be boy guides and girl scouts? Sorry to tweet the last part here, but you know what I mean?

I disagree. I think one of the great things about Boy Scouts is that it is a group of men teaching Boys how to become Men. You loose individuality when you start making everything about everyone...

Except the organization has allowed women to lead Cub Scouts forever, and women to lead Boy Scouts for over three decades.

All of my troop leaders were men... maybe just my experience but I don’t think having women troop leaders is a bad thing. Just because they are not men doesn’t mean they don’t know what is expected of men and to teach them those skills.

I don’t think the Boy Scouts or Girls Scouts organizations were ever about exclusion. I think the focus was appreciation of the separate entities.

And they still will be separate. Many girls or their families want the same program that BSA provides
