Beautiful! We should all be organ donors. Why do we need them when we’re gone? We have the power to save lives. It’s inspiring.

In Canada you are assumed to be a donor unless you opt out, in America we have the opposite.
-
Crazy.
-
It is out of respect for the bodies.. You don't get to take my stuff after i am dead.. why should you get to take my body parts if I have not agreed to that ? My faith does not allow doctors to kill me off a little earlier to take organs as is done at times.. You get that right
-
You can opt out. It's not mandatory to donate.
-
The way we have it in the USA is ideal you have to choose to opt in. I had a classmate almost murdered & harvested parts from when she fell into coma & doctors told her parents she should be turned off life support & used to save others. My classmate woke up 2 months later!
-
I am thankful for organ donors. Only when there is literally no hope for the donor.
-
I feel we have to be very careful not to take a life that might be saveable for organs. I support people being informed of blood donation & organ donation options ..

My son was a donor, After a car accident. I chose not to know who he helped. I love reading these type of comments. It reminds me of the good he did even in death.
-
Also, he had made the choice to be a donor and I knew it. It was the only easy thing I did that day was following through with his wishes. Let your loved ones know.

I donated 60% of my liver to my dad and then proposed to my wife after I woke up. Extended my dad's life, lost half an organ, and gained a future wife and the mother of my kids in the matter of a couple hours. That was painfully great day.

My husband was a recipient of a heart transplant and I got 10 extras years as his wife. When he passed he paid it forward and 54 people were recipients of tissue and etc. It’s the ultimate gift of giving.

My son was an organ donor at the age of 16...8 years ago this month. We pray for the families that received his gift of life, sight, and tissue...and we continue to hope and pray for the day we meet the person who received his incredible, beautiful heart.

-
I hope you get to. What a blessing!

Becoming an organ donor is so important my cousin is waiting for a kidney donor and it made me stop and think about how important it was for me to get registered as a donor I felt I couldn't expect someone to be a donor for him if I wasn't willing to do the same for someone else
