Okay, because it's going to take a while for my MA thesis, "Where No Michif Has Gone Before: The Form and Function of Métis Futurisms" to come out, I've decided to start posting it in pieces on my Patreon:

  4. Hey language teachers, I want to make flash cards with images and text, and some with images and no text, to practice vocab words. This is for printing, so not just online stuff. Any good templates out there for this? It's a bit of a slog resizing photos and such.

This is starting in 90 minutes outside RCMP HQ on Portage! Please be there if you can to support the Indigenous youth leading this organizing.

  6. Like absolutely everything else, "reconciliation" gets shoved back down our throats as a form of control, rather than an obligation on the part of settler colonizer occupiers to stop their violence against Indigenous peoples.

RCMP violently invaded unceded territory at 4:30am this morning. NO ONE was blocking the road, NO ONE was violating any injunction. Dozens of cops with dogs and assault rifles were used to arrest 6 unarmed people. Support:

"Rule of law," except the RCMP don't actually charge the people they arrest for violating the court injunction in Wet'suwet'en territory, they just remove them from the area & release them. It's the Rule of Removal. The RCMP were founded to remove the Métis, Cree & other nations

Day 4 update: The allies of the Indigenous youth locked down in at Dan Vandal's office continue the sit-in while the locked-down land protesters meet with Minister Vandal, who returned to Winnipeg last night. RCMP - get off unceded territory

It's 2020 & the RCMP are arresting Indigenous people for living on their own land. They're using dogs, dragging people away in handcuffs, threatening the media. It's not ok and it shouldn't be ok to you. Good people, the time is now for solidarity. All out for Wet'suwet'en.

  12. We honest to goodness don't need fucking white people running everything and gatekeeping who is and who is not Indigenous, for real.

  13. Haugan hated the coverage of the blatantly anti-Black decision, and blames the people who spoke up about it for things getting "political". This is a space for Indigenous ppl, maybe Haugan shouldn't be there?

  14. 1. Why is Paul Haugan, a non-Indigenous man, the chair of the All Native Basketball Tournament Committee? 2. We haven't forgotten when they banned a Black Heiltsuk player who was adopted and has Status. Haugan was in charge then too.
