Today marks the 350th anniversary of 'Battle of Sinhagad'- the near impossible mission led by Tanaji Malusare on February 4, 1670, to capture the fort of Sinhagad near Pune.
The mission was a success, but Tanaji had to make the ultimate sacrifice - today is his 350th Punyatithi.

Bajirao expanded the 'Swarajya' established by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, into a 'Samrajya'.
Constantly on the move in his 20 year reign, he didn't lose a single major battle.
In Hyderabad after a long long time... clearly they have built much better infra (roads, metro) than Pune and Bengaluru.
The ring roads are very good.
The road surface quality is also significantly better. No potholes/random speed breakers (in my limited sample size).

While the Marathas did lose the battle, their key objective of pushing back the invaders was successful. A weakened Abdalli, fearing a prospect of another battle with the advancing army of Nanasaheb Peshwa, went back to Afghanistan, never to return again to India.
