I lost everyone and everything due to literal bullshit. Shit that was manipulated and out of my control.

People would rather maintain status quo. Especially when their friends are the problem, or doing the right thing risks their ingroup.
It's how abuse propagates, how people get left to die.
Eventually, it becomes the thing that gets people killed.
But people never take action

You have to understand, everyone wants to protect what they have, and most will never put what they have at risk for others, even if it's an easy win or the right thing to do.
Once people get comfortable, and get wealth/power/influence, they won't risk it.
