Going from waitressing a year ago to now carries a LOT of life-adjustments. But 3 paychecks in has shown me how 1 of the greatest scams in US is the idea that financial struggle is due to “poor character.” It’s a huge myth designed to keep people from empowering themselves. /1

Ultimately, living in a moral society, a good nation, means establishing some basic standards of dignity: - healthcare as a right - a living wage - public education that prepares for civil society + economy (which now shld incl college) - all people having power in the economy

In the late 1970s, if you made over 100k (single), 200k (married), the money above those marks fell into the top income tax bracket: 70%. Such brackets discouraged hoarding. Reagan did away with these types of anti-hoarding provisions and the middle class has paid for it.

As in the megawealthy born of Reaganism bought everything and jacked our rents to match what the new megawealthy can pay. Chicago is now losing population. We can't afford to live here. And they are shouting SHAME at us as we go.

Yeah that’s what all socialists say then when all the rich people run away & they run out of people’s money to spend, they come for the poor. That’s what happened in Venezuela. All the rich people left & that’s what’s happening in France. The poor are over taxed hence

Yikes. The largest businesses in our country pay No tax. I paid 25 % of my income to the federal government and another 25% for my health care. That’s 50%. Bezos PAID NOTHING. Time for a change. Bernie2020
