    Absolutely delighted that has been elected as Lancashire Police & Crime Commissioner. Not only does he understand the issues we face from speeding cars to rural crime, but he also has the drive to tackle them. Look forward to working with him in the months ahead

    Yesterday I welcomed the Secretary of State to Burnley to visit the redevelopment at Finsley Gate Wharf. The Levelling-Up Fund offers us real opportunity for Govt investment but we need a strong Conservative team locally to deliver it with me.

    It was great to have in Burnley today to talk regeneration, investment & levelling up. Big thanks to for showing us the Finsley Gate Wharf redevelopment too. The Levelling-Up Fund will allow us to build on these schemes to really transform Burnley

    Good news that Chelsea and City have seen sense, and I urge the rest to follow swiftly. The whole ESL move shows how out-of-touch these owners are. They have completely misjudged the strength of feeling from fans, players and the whole country. Football is for the fans. (1/2)

    Very sad to hear of the passing of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh this morning. He was a serving member of the Royal Navy during our darkest years, a consort to the Queen, father and grandfather. His service to our nation was unwavering. May he rest in peace.

    It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.

    This is fantastic news for Burnley & Padiham! Particularly welcome is the £170,000 of funding provided in this Budget to us locally to ensure we can put in high-quality, ambitious bids for both funds which could total more than £40 million of Government investment in our area 🚧

    The prospectus launch of two new funds: the £4 billion Levelling Up Fund, and our £220 million Community Renewal Fund. UK wide so that people in every region and nation of the UK can benefit. (5/6)
