May is #MentalHealthMonth. Mental health has been neglected for too long. We need more investment in health services and to keep fighting the stigma of seeking help.

We live in a world in desperate need of healing and hope. The @UN represents a measure of that hope. We will never give up our work to build a life of dignity for all.

The @UN attaches the highest importance to its partnership with the European Union. On #EuropeDay, I look forward to continued friendship and cooperation to build a better world for all.

My thoughts are with the people of Latin America as they continue to grapple with the terrible consequences of the #COVID19 pandemic. The @UN family will continue to provide support. #OnlyTogether can we end this crisis.

We can no longer afford big fossil fuel infrastructure anywhere. But the move from polluting to renewable energy must be a just transition, involving local governments, unions & the private sector to support affected communities & generate green jobs.

I am deeply worried about the lack of progress on climate adaptation. People are already dying, farms are failing, millions face displacement. I reiterate my call to ensure that at least 50% of climate finance is for adaption & resilience. This is a matter of urgency & trust.

I welcome the US Government’s unprecedented support for the waiver of intellectual property protections regarding #COVID19 vaccines, announced yesterday. We are all agreed: none of us will be safe from the virus until all of us are safe.

The #COVID19 pandemic caught the world unprepared. In addition to urgently tackling the crisis, we must also build a global system that deals with problems before they turn into catastrophes. Let us resolve to never let this suffering happen again.

The people of Chad face a pivotal moment for their country. I hope they are able to find a consensual and peaceful path to progress. The @UN remains strongly committed to serving the people of Chad in their quest for an inclusive and prosperous future.

Time for #ClimateAction: Put a price on carbon. End fossil fuel subsidies. Phase out coal & stop building coal power plants. Shift tax burden from taxpayers to polluters. Invest in renewable energy & green infrastructure. Fund & implement just transition plans.

The roll-out of #COVID19 vaccines is offering hope. Yet, we still see uneven access around the world and within countries. An unfair global vaccine gap threatens everyone’s health. #OnlyTogether will we end the pandemic for good.
