I am disappointed with the results of #COP25.
The international community lost an important opportunity to show increased ambition on mitigation, adaptation & finance to tackle the climate crisis.
But we must not give up, and I will not give up.

I am more determined than ever to work for 2020 to be the year in which all countries commit to do what science tells us is necessary to reach carbon neutrality in 2050 and a no more than 1.5 degree temperature rise. #ClimateAction

I wish Antonio that you’d name the Australian Government (and coal-supporting Labor opposition party). Name Angus Taylor. Name Scott Morrison. They will hide behind broad statements and those not engaged in climate politics will simply believe their spin and (re)elect them.

Just remember that Australian Energy Minister Angus Taylor didn’t once cite the terrible #nswbushfires or that #SydneyIsChoking on bushfire smoke in his ministerial address to the High Level #UNFCCC Plenary at #COP25. Absence of action, absence of empathy in #auspol

Maybe time to try a different approach, since the conventional one plainly isn't working?

Until and unless the international community begins to acknowledge that the Paris Agreement will simply not work will be another flop and future COPs will have similar outcomes. The time has come to adopt pragmatic Real Politik.
