Yes, this is one of those 'well akshually' things Anglos pull that's actually wrong, and shows how Anglo they really are. 'Norteamericano' is LatAm Spanish shorthand for US/Canada, because 'americano' refers to the entire Americas, thus the Anglo part is the northern rim.

Maybe we should build a Border Canal instead of a Border Wall. That way all the pedants will be satisfied that Mexico is in a different continent from the US.
