Ride-hailing drivers do not buy new vehicles. They buy used and the used EV market is not exactly robust. It will take several more years but EVs will dominate, particularly since battery longevity is not an issue.

Because a 10 year old Toyota Sienna will generate more revenue (and profit). Human driver ride share is a numbers game. Tesla will win by removing the driver, making all the old vehicles + drivers obsolete.

you can get a chevy bolt 3 year lease in the bay area for $4k right now all in.

Standard leases are for 10-15K miles per year. Presumably full time ride share drivers do much more than that.

I was younger then, but I found long road trips in a '82 Accord, close to base model, pretty tolerable. If Lyft had existed then, I'd have driven it happily.
