It's an interesting and odd moment to watch a man's character crack under adversity, and reveal their true and flawed nature, despite their previous outward cosmetics that had gotten them so far. You can never see them the same way again. You know the underlying truth.

Agreed, and I'd add there are two ways to look at it. 1. The person was a fraud and was more important in projecting a type of character 2. The person is genuinely flawed and worked hard to overcome as much as possible
