Agreed, and I'd add there are two ways to look at it. 1. The person was a fraud and was more important in projecting a type of character 2. The person is genuinely flawed and worked hard to overcome as much as possible

I just think that the notion of a "consistent inner true character" is inconsistent with observations. Would be interested if this can be formulated as a falsifiable hypothesis and put to the test, if it hasn't already been.
