Second person in a day with an email auto-reply that essentially says: yeah, I just don't do email anymore...find me on some messaging app if you know me, and otherwise, well....sorry. Email is becoming the new phone call: something only for spammers or very specific uses.
Speaking of phone calls, switched both phone and carrier recently, and I don't even want to figure out how to set up voicemail. But I'm getting notifications for voicemails. I ignore them. Nothing bad seems to have happened. Maybe I can ignore unprompted phone calls forever.
The only calls that I miss that are worth anything are the ones that leave a voicemail that can be transcribed. And that's usually telling me that Rx are ready for pickup
my dad turns his phone on when he wants to talk to people, will call them, speak, and then turn his phone back off he does text, but it is entirely under five words for everything

This is what I do if it is a unknown number. Ask them to leave a message and I will get back to them.
Haven’t had voicemail setup for years now. No issues at all. If they have my phone number but can’t/won’t text me they are probably an auto dialer or someone I don’t want to talk to.

I haven’t answered a call not either expected or from someone I know and want to talk to in at least a couple years now, nor have I listened to a voicemail. It’s wonderful, though my tolerance has lowered and now I’m disgusted even when it rings.
This is my plan. I find non-urgent calls rude. Had the phone not evolved first, we would not tolerate it.
Email only for work... Phone only for emergencies... DM/iMessage only for personal contact
