Just test drove a Tesla 3. It's fairly WOW. Really redefines the concept of 'automobile'. Interesting how the software/hardware hybrid of a modern car is rebooted in the software direction: there are no interfaces inside it other than a huge screen and a wheel.

The car has literally not aged in 3 years / 60k miles. It’s actually better than when I bought it.pic.twitter.com/t8gP6tlZEU

Asked my SO the other day if she felt we should have gone with the LR AWD instead of the Performance. Answer was a swift "NO!" - looking at me like I'd taken leave of my senses. YMMV. It does ruin other cars. Drove a Model S recently, 0-60 in 4.4s felt a bit... relaxed

LR/AWD with boost is 3.6 sec 0-60 vs 3.3 for the Performance. The performance wheels/brakes look sportier but other than track days, don’t add much. In fact brakes the same, just Red. Personally not worth the extra several thousand, but to each their own.

It’s already been stated that FSD subscription will be much more than buying it. If you actually want to save money, you’d finance it with the purchase of the car. And FSD isn’t vaporware, it’s very much a thing. Beta is already out and will be public in the coming weeks.

In CA $10K on MSRP costs $14K total over 7 years. It increases taxes on the car, registration fees for the life of the car, and insurance for the life of the car. So that's a true cost of $167/mo broken out.
