Well, I think the Sephardic connection will be much easier for people from areas where those communities survived (e.g. Turkey). But in the US, they were a hidden, niche thing...two centuries ago. And you have to create a connection from now to that. Forget speaking Ladino...

Indeed. I see such news coming and going often. Truth is most Hispanics can apply for citizenship after being residents for 2 years. They are usually approved.

Yes. Latin Americans get a special exception. The Spanish still have a soft spot for the former colonies.
