Definitely Schmittian. Our institutions and political culture are mapped entirely onto the structures of Western theology.

He’s noted for saying that all modern political concepts are secularized theological concepts. Fairly influential with the Straussians and also Frankfurt School. Also a Nazi. But so was Heidegger.

I think it might end up recycled as a chapter in book two anyhow, so I'll take on the reading list. Like the Israelites, looks like Moses took too long dilly-dallying on the mountain, and we've forged our own golden calf, mostly out of boredom.
