Believe it. Most NYC bagels are actually crap, if sampled randomly.https://twitter.com/antoniogm/status/1052647122414104576 …

This is absolutely true. I also have thoughts about the NYC vs. SF bagel thing, but I can only wage my social media war on so many fronts. https://twitter.com/_tessr/status/1052056660062101506 …

This is actually bullshit. I can believe that one extraordinary bakery has a decent bagel in SF, the same way I could imagine a good taco in NY. But the average bagel, and the average slice, in NY is extraordinary.

Bollocks. Without any planning or routing, get a bagel from the first metal street stand you run across, and post a picture please. And don't even get me started on the coffee.

The same applies to street feces. Walk on any street on SF and you'll see shit everywhere. In NY, oh nevermind, we don't have that problem...

Way to change the subject. Look forward to the photo of that magnificent NYC street bagel. In the case of a flood, they're so bready and puffy, you can use them as a life preserver.

LOL. No it isn't. Lived years in the LES, and know of what I speak. NYers are delusional about a lot of things, and their pizza/bagel quality is one of those things (not that that many of them even eat them that often...this is mostly posturing).

You've staked your respective claims. This should be settled with a duel or...some sort of scientitic experiment.

That's an idea. But most properly-prepared bagels don't age well over even a six hour flight. Also, the claim is that the average NYC bagel is only so-so, not specially picked ones. The closest bagel to me in Alameda is better than the closest bagel to me in the NYC FiDi. YMMV.

our office does bagel wednesdays in both the SF and the NYC offices. I'll post a picture comparison tomorrow. This feels like a fair test since both office managers were trying to get the most good but also most convenient option.
