In case anyone is curious, we allow the 2-yo zero screen time, beyond occasional photos (or Skype) with supervision. Given remote family, photos trigger her memory and she actively recounts stories about the images and what she did with Grandpa. But no games, no videos, nothing.

Cell phone usage...when should it start for a child?

No tablets, no mobiles for kids in our house. Our 14yo hasn't asked for one but she'll get a mobile for Xmas because she's going away to boarding school next year. There is a house Mac for their homework etc. TV limit is 1hr per day. Other parents think we are too strict.

I'm thinking there should be some more human development research around this, or has big tech buried it?
