What's in DC? Is it worth visiting? I haven't been there since high school, and have the opportunity to fly and stay on someone else's dime. Not really into the tourist thing. I'm not hugely tempted, but am open to being convinced.
Right. I did the basics in high school. Though the museums could be revisited.

Also there are new ones! FDR and MLK are also quite moving and the museum around African American history is on my list to do. The Hirschorn had a couple of amazing pieces last time I was there and, heck, is it really ever too many times to see the air and space?

The National Museum of the American Indian has a dope cafeteria and a pan-American perspective.

I grew up in Washington State so I'm used to a more... triumphalist editorial perspective? So it was a bit depressing in that sense.

Yeah, it’s worth revisiting those & the national archives as an adult. Seriously, it’ll be more emotional than you think. Not true of the Washington monument, capitol building, WWII memorial (Yeesh). But Lincoln’s words, the wall of dead Americans & the real contract with America

If you actually book a guided tour of Lincoln/Vietnam memorials, you won't be disappointed. Not expensive, and you get so much more
